Gimble Expansion Bellows

In Gimble type of expansion bellow, Pair of two hinges & pin or pivot whose axis are perpendicular to each other are connected to a floating gimbaled-ring.

Gimble type of expansion bellow gives advantage of absorbing pressure thrust, supporting the dead weight of the system, transmitting loads through the gimbaled structure, preventing torsion & reduce forces on system.

Universal Gimbaled Expansion Joints are similar to the hinged universals except that the two expansion joints are gimbal type. The advantage of this arrangement is the ability of the expansion joint to accept large lateral movements and independent angular movements in any plane.

Applied to complex piping system where proper anchoring & guiding may not be feasible these joints can absorb angular motion in all planes.
